TRG: Food safety in China

The Chinese economy has grown rapidly during the last 30 years and caused major industrialization and urbanization. Due to these changes, the pressure on the production of food has increased. This results in enormous food safety problems due to both deliberate and unintentional contamination in all steps of the production chain. As huge scandals appeared in the media, public concern is rising and causes an increase in the demand for a means to test food safety. This project aims to develop a reliable and accessible end-user food test that indicates whether a certain product is safe to consume.
