Presenting equity in health

“Equity” and “Equality” are not the same: Equality means that all stakeholders get exactly the same quantity of something, while equity refers to giving all stakeholders a “justified” or “fair” amount. In health care, it does not make sense to give everyone equal healthcare, since needs differ from person to person. Therefore, the term equity is used. Especially in development of health care in poor countries, this term may lead to a very broad range of interpretations.

In this project, we try to map the ways in which equity is used by employees of an organization working in the field of equity in health. This company is working towards sustainable development in low and middle income countries. This effort should lead to a position which sets this company as an example to other organizations in this field. We hope that this brings the institution more success in acquiring projects that help them achieve their mission.
